The Emergency Service Unit (ESU) is a joint team comprising of deputies from the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office and officers from the Kearney Police Department, renowned for their specialized skills and readiness to handle high-stakes situations. sniper

The Sniper Team is a component of the Emergency Services Unit (E.S.U.), comprised of Deputies and Officers from the Buffalo County Sheriff's Office and the Kearney Police Department. Snipers go through specialized tactical training as well as marksmanship and are equipped with long range rifles and other specialized gear. Primary roles of a sniper include surveillance, incident perimeter, scene security, and long-range precision shooting.
